Thanks for the interesting history and photos. I am a builder of model cars and one of my specialties is police cars. Based on your information I can now model different MN trooper cars in scale.
The following photos were taken during the restoration of the MSPTA's 1954 Ford Mainline. The car was stripped of all of its parts, straightened, overhauled, repainted, reupholstered, and replaced. It was quite a process and one that would not have been accomplished without the help of some good Friends of the State Patrol.

Start with a nice car...
and start taking it apart...
Do a little sanding...
Smooth out some rough edges...
Make it really straight...
Take apart a few more pieces...
Lay on some new paint...
Paint all the pieces...
Put it all back together...



...and show it off!
