About Drea Name: Andrea Mae Lee Wylie - aka Drea (Ann-Dree-Uh or Draya) Was Known As: Andi Oster - but DON'T call me Andi anymore!! Age: 36 as of Feb 2008 Sign: Aquarius Home: The Pacific Northwest Dayjob: Asst. Manager @ Starbucks Just who is this Shadesiren person? Well, if you actually asked that question, this is the place to find out. I've had the name Shadesiren since I was 19, as a result of a brief stint in a club called The Sabrehawks. Very silly group, but it was fun. I made some cool friends, some I miss, but it was a lot of fun, most of the time And hey, I got that cool name, right? Currently, I'm a wife, artist and barista, to name a few hats. I've got lots. I'm a true girl gamer, something I'm rather proud of - I got my first D&D books when I was 8, and from there, I was determined to be a gamer. I still have that first set of dice! (Even the ten sider that looks like I tried to eat it - it went through mom's vacuum cleaner, and not only survived, but managed to be FOUND!) I love to draw, to paint, either on paper or on my PC. I've semi-retired from the dolling stint, a result of a combination of feeling my dolls were getting stagnant, and several bad experiences on multiple doll-forums. Two disappeared (the two best) and others got too full of themselves, ruining the fun, close feeling they once had. One of my biggest fears for The Oberon Writing Group is that it could get too big, lose the close family feel it has now. We're not just writing together - we're crew. All you firefly fans, The Oberon is a Firefly-based writing group, sharing the continuing adventures of the Oberon and the Salvation, two little ships in the 'Verse. We like to think of ourselves as spin-offs. Two new series based on a masterpiece. **We love you, Joss!** Ok, more about me. I found my True Love, my hubby Mark, back in 1996 (may 12th!). We've been inseperable ever since. Nearly as much as I love him, I love my kitty, Duncan. Softest kitty EVER! My Mom is an artist, drawing, painting, and photography. I have one of her paintings in my living room - a four foot by three foot landscape of a sunrise over a mountain. I like it a lot. Another smaller mountain painting is sitting on my mantel. It's because of her that I draw, I know. She used to be more "into it" and I've been drawing, as a result, since I could hold a crayon. Sometimes I think it's practice more than talent that you see in my work. Mom tried to teach me, but we always butted heads - I hated having to "do it right". Wanted to do it my own way. Eventually, the things she tried to teach me sank in a little, helped by what I read in comic books, one or two art books, and some old art how-to books of mom's. I still remember a harlequin Great Dane project - I was SO thrilled when it came out half way decent, I never have been good at animals. I got my real interest drawing characters I'd created. I did a lot of Character Sketches for all the Roleplaying Games I played. Most of my friends were guys, so there were more than a few pin ups done. I did a whole book of a family, trying to draw everyone in a convoluted family tree, with characters that were completely wild and far out, and none of it made any sense. It was a fun hobby. I still have the book. From there I just drew - whatever it turned into. I have a lot of unfinished pics, stuff I started, but it didn't work enough to finish. Sometimes, I even go back and finish them, maybe as something different than I might have originally planned. I've gotten some nice surprises that way. I think that's more than most people want to know, *laughs*.
