The South Gratiot Association a group of concerned residents and business owners are sending out this Newsletter in the South Gratiot area of Clinton Township and Mount Clemens between 14 Mile and Wellington Crescent. Anyone who wishes to join the South Gratiot Association can pay yearly dues of $35, which we use for events and to print this newsletter. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the South Branch of the Public Library and everyone is welcome.

Annual Gratiot Meeting – Open House

Thursday May 12^th 6pm to 7:30pm. Come and meet your fellow Gratiot business. Everyone is welcome. Come and get to know your neighbors. Tell us your problems, concerns and suggestions. We will provide free appetizers. This years meeting will be held at Don Carlos Restaurant (Gratiot & 14 mile).

Clinton Township Downtown Development Authority (DDA)

Gratiot Corridor Highlights

During the past several months the Downtown Development Authority (D.D.A.) has been working along with its consultant, Archive DS on a Master Plan for Gratiot Avenue from 14 Mile Road to Wellington Crescent. The intent of the plan is to identify deficiencies along the corridor and make suggestions for improvements. Suggestion for Improvements or Marketing ideas can be made to Carlo Santia in the Planning Department at 286-8000.

Aside from D.D.A. activities along the corridor the following development are currently underway or proposed:

Tropicana Restaurant:

Construction is almost completed.

CVS Drug Store:

Currently constructing a new facility at the site of the former ”Sign of the Beefcarver” Restaurant.

National City Bank:

Has submitted sites plans for construction at the former Crown Furniture building.

Clinton Township Fire Station #1:

Currently under construction between S.B. and N.B. Gratiot and north of Harrington, approximately 10,000 sq. ft, nearing completion.

Burger King:

Has remodeled, come in and see the new look.

Annual Cleanup

M-Dot Gratiot Cleanup is three times each year. Come out and give us a hand. Bring your family and friends. We meet at 9:00am at Gratiot and 15-mile rd., on the south side of Home Town Buffet.

A dumpster will be provided. If you can’t help, try and clean the area in front of your store.
