Quick Facts:
First Day of School: Thursday, September 10, 2009
School Hours: 8:15am - 2:40pm (students are marked tardy after 8:25am.)
Where To Meet: Back of School for Grades 1-5. Front of School for Kindergarten and Preschool, Doors 2 for K-Mrs. Power and Door 3 for K-Mrs. Crowley
PLEASE do not enter the classrooms or walk your child to their classroom door in the morning. Say goodbyes at the gate, on the playground or in our front foyer. If you need to get information to the teacher, please send a note or schedule a conference. The teachers are busy preparing and working with children each morning and we try to limit the number of adults in the building for safety reasons. Thank you!
Breakfast: Our school offers hot/cold breakfast each day from 8:00 - 8:15am. If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, you also qualify for free/reduced breakfast. The breakfast price is $1.00 a day. Please enter the school through door 14 on the back playground and a lunch monitor will supervise your child and walk them to class at 8:20am. Kindergarten parents may sit with them for breakfast through the first 2 weeks of school, then say goodbyes at the back door.
Snack: Bring one every day, NO nut products allowed at snack because of allergies.
Lunch: Bring a lunch from home or lunch money every day ($2.00). Most parents find it easier to purchase a week’s worth (or more) of tickets on Monday. Your child may bring nut products for lunch but they will sit at a special table with other students with nut products.
Lunch Prices: Free/reduced lunch forms are sent home the first day of school or can be submitted ANYTIME during the year. Please contact the office. Lunch prices are: $2.00 per day or $.50 for just milk. (These prices may change in Sept.)
Clothing: Plain shirts/blouse and pants/shorts/skirts are encouraged. If a child wears a shirt with an inappropriate picture, logo or words on it, parents will be called to bring in a change of clothing.
Footwear: Sneakers are encouraged. All shoes must have a strap on the heel because of our many stairs. (NO Flip-flops)
After School Programs: We have two after school programs that have after-school pick-up students at the Shamrock School:
