It is vital to inform the school of any changes in names, addresses or phone numbers which occur during the school year. (return to top)
For safety reasons please plan the time of your child's departure from home so s/he will not arrive before 8:00. Doors open for breakfast at 8:00.
All early dismissal and tardy students must report to the office before being dismissed or attending class.
Inform the school of any special custodial arrangements or restraining orders. Documentation will be kept in a confidential file in the main office.

Please drop off school age students at the front entry, or rear entry. Preschool drop off will be discussed at the parent orientation session. Use the parking lot circle to turn in the correct direction. (return to top)
Children are not allowed to self-administer medication of any sort during the school day. Medicines taken on a regular basis may be dispensed by the school nurse (generally at mid day). However, specific arrangements must be made and state forms must be signed in advance. Inhalers are also in this category and may be stored in the health office to be used as needed. The school nurse cannot administer short -term medication such as cough/cold medicine. Please time these doses so that they do not occur during school hours.
Children who experience conjunctivitis (red crusty, or runny eyes), are asked to return to school twenty four hours after they have received initial treatment. Our School Nurse, Mrs. Sue Mateus, is available to answer questions pertaining to your child's health. Messages may be left in her voice mailbox #107.
By state regulation, smoking is prohibited both within the school building and outside on all school grounds. (return to top)
School Newsletters are sent home throughout the year.
In mid-September an evening is designated as, "Back To School Night" when parents are invited to meet staff and hear about plans for the year. There are also two scheduled Parent Teacher Conference sessions after the first two terms. The dates and times are listed on the report card
If you would like to meet with a teacher at any point during the year, please call 781-937-8241 and leave a message. Every professional staff member has a voice mailbox, generally the classroom number. Teachers welcome the opportunity to meet about your child's progress. Since it is important that teachers spend class time with their students, we request that you avoid spontaneous conferences before school or at dismissal times. (return to top)

Progress Reports are issued four times a year to grades one through five to students who are in danger of a poor grade at the mid-term point. Kindergarten is not issued a first term report. No School Announcements
Delays due to snow or ice are generally one or two hours. School would then start at 9:25am/10:25a.m. There is no morning preschool on a snow delay day. Cancellations and Delays are posted online, on Boston television stations and by radio announcements which can be heard on WBZ 1030, WRKO 6800 and WEEI 850. Woburn Public Schools will also use its telephone “Connect Ed” system to contact families and staff, it is important to keep your phone number up to date with the office as this is the number that the ConnectEd System will call.
It is extremely unlikely that students would be sent home early due to snowfall. However, if parents are concerned and are able to pick up students, they may dismiss them. ConnectEd phone calls and local media outlets will be used in these rare instances.
