2. The only president born on July 4th. Calvin Coolidge, born July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont [AP 250].

3. The first president born after U.S. Independence. Martin Van Buren, born December 5, 1782 in Kinderhook, New York [AP 78]. [citizen of the United States]

4. The only presidents born on same street and in the same city. John Adams and John Quincy Adams. Both were born on Franklin Street in Quincy (then Braintree), Massachusetts [EPT 19].

5. The first president born in a hospital. Jimmy Carter, born October 1, 1924 in Plains, Georgia [AP 385].

6. His grandfather and namesake was killed by Indians. Abraham Lincoln's father's father (also named Abraham) was killed by Indians in 1786. [LIN 1-21]
