4. One of the physicians who attended him shortly before his death was the President of Stanford University. Warren G. Harding. The Stanford President was Ray Lyman Wilbur. Harding was in San Francisco, returning from a trip to Alaska, via Seattle where he first became ill on July 27, 1923. He died on August 2, 1923. [AP 247]
5. He made a provision in his will for freeing slaves upon his death. Thomas Jefferson. Three slaves were freed upon his death. Two others were to be freed when they became of age. [TJRA 240] George Washington made a provision in his will to free one slave on his death and all the others after the death of his wife Martha.
