E-mail: I am doing some research on presidents and I was wondering if you knew where the destination of the first presidential flight was, also who was the first president to fly on Air Force One?

Reply: FDR had an airplane at his disposal. I think he flew to Casablanca for a conference during W.W.II.  Truman's plane was known as "Independence." Eisenhower had the first plane known as "Air Force One."
