Email: Please tell us the seven presidents that were left handed. We can only find five. Clinton, Garfield, Bush, Truman, Ford. My son's teacher says there are seven.
Reply: Sorry to say, your teacher is incorrect. Your list is correct. There are web sites (and recently a History Channel quiz) which claimed that there have been seven. The other two they say are Hoover and Reagan. I sent an e-mail to the Hoover library (see below) and they reviewed films that proved that Hoover was right handed. I have no absolute proof for Reagan, but get any book on his life which has pictures. They always show the picture of him as a college football player kicking very high with his right leg. That should be pretty strong evidence that he was also right handed.
Email: In the past 25 years president Jimmy Carter was the only president to do what?
Reply: My best guess: He is the only one who did not play golf.
Email: Would you believe the answer was "Be right handed"?
Reply: But Reagan was also right handed!

I have a Herbert Hoover trivia question I hope someone there can help me with:
Was President Hoover right handed or left handed?
Thank you very much.

I checked with our AV Archivist who handles the Hoover films that we have, and he said that Hoover was right-handed.
Sincerely,
