"As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the companion of your walks."
- Thomas Jefferson

• Twice a year, the Knob Creek range near West Point, Kentucky, hosts the largest gathering of machine gun enthusiasts in the country. It's a three-day epic of shooting, shopping and fellowship that must be experienced to be believed. Among regular attendees who make the pilgrimage every April and October, it's known simply as the CREEK.

• Over Memorial Day 2003 weekend, my wife and I attended the annual Glock List gathering at Feliciana Firearms Training Center, affectionately referred to as "The Playland" by list members. Three days of shooting, food, fun and friendship. Click Here for Pics.

• Going to the range is like going out to dinner or a movie - not something that should be done alone! Collected here some photographs of friends and family members with whom I've shared countless hours of shooting enjoyment.

• Although most of my interest lies in defensive-oriented shooting, I do engage in some competitions to have fun, and to keep my skills sharp between defensive training courses. The shooting "games" I engage in include Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF), Steel Challenge, the Indiana State SMG Championships, and local defensive and concealed carry matches.
