Just a day or so after the event, we received from our good friend Jack Tary a fine photo selection of the participating antique car & trucks displayed on Hubbard Field in the beautiful CT River town of Essex (including Jack's fine GTO in the array upper left), courtesy of our good friend Jack (attached to his e-mail dated 9/19/2010) from this impressive event staged by the Essex Automobile Club, to benefit the Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut. In his e-mail with the images featured on thi page attached, Jack wrote:

"...Great group of people, and a beautiful day..."

Thanks again Jack for the Essex Auto Club Show Coverage - We appreciate the shots & commentary that our local old car friend Jack Tary sent along recently, with which we were able to construct this issue's COVER feature. Definitely looked like a cool event, with some very beautiful and exclusive cars!

And it all was for a worthy cause too. A pre-event publicity blurb we found published at The Day's "Zip06" web site (http://www.theday.com/article/20100909/NWS06/309099649/-1/zip06&town=Essex&template=zip06art) provides a few more interesting details about the Essex Auto Club's 3rd Annual Show:

'...The Essex Automobile Club hosts its third annual Antique & Classic Car Show, which has become a highlight of the early fall season in Essex, on Saturday, Sept. 18. Antique and classic cars from around the area will be on display at Hubbard Field located at 75 North Main Street beginning at 10 a.m. and running until 3 p.m... Show Co-Chairman Terry Lomme describes the cars for this year's show as "outstanding."... "We have some of the most enthusiastic and active members of the collector car world right here in Connecticut and we're very lucky that they chose to participate in our show," Lomme said... Automobiles from several eras will be featured, including Brass Era cars, War Era cars, Baby Boomer cars, and sportscars from America and Europe. Admission is $5 per person with children under age 12 admitted free. Proceeds from the show will benefit Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut...'
