Warning Description: Special Statement

Warning Date: 4:38 am EDT on July 19, 2015

WarningSum:...Isolated Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Likely Late This
Afternoon And Evening With The Highest Risk North Of The
Massachusetts Turnpike...

Warning Message:Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are likely to develop
after 3 or 4 PM north of the Massachusetts Turnpike.
Initially...the main risk will be locally strong to damaging wind
gusts but isolated reports of hail are possible.
The biggest uncertainty is whether or not these isolated strong
storms merge into a larger complex thunderstorms. The highest
risk for this is north of the Massachusetts Turnpike...but can not
be ruled out across the rest of the region. If a larger complex of
thunderstorms is able to develop...more significant wind damage
would be possible this evening. Heavy rainfall may also bring the
potential for localized flooding. Lastly...dangerous cloud to
ground lightning will be possible with these storms.
The greatest risk for severe weather is between 4 PM and
midnight...but the threat could linger longer.
Those with outdoor plans should pay close attention to the latest
weather forecasts and possible watches or warnings. Remember...if
you here thunder you are close enough to get struck by lightning
so head to an indoor shelter immediately.
