Place/Time:
CU Boulder: Benson Earth Science Building, 1st Saturday of every month, 7:00 check in, 8:00 game on.

IC Event Locations and Times:
IC game locations will be determined on a per-game basis by the ST staff, and/or by mutual player approval.
OOC Directions:
Email any of the above for directions

Theme/Mood:
Boulder is a city of compromise between coteries and covenants, nestled beneath the imposing Flatirons, and with the dark ambience of their shadows amplified by natural geomantic forces. The city is a magnet for psychics, religious fanatics, New-Age con artists, freaks, homeless, and rich college students. It has been a haven for the less fortunate, as well as the extremely fortunate. Dichotomy of extremes is the rule, rather than the exception.

Pre-chronicle History: Is available for characters to discover, but should be done ICly. Those characters with histories int he city are aware of what they need to be aware.

PC Character restrictions:
Vampire, ghouls, and mortals only.

1) Character history is required, and a complete character sheet must be submitted prior to the game.

2) Additionally, new characters within the Boulder Requiem venue who claim Boulder as their home territory and have position within the city must explain in a history, how they have come to attain such.

3) Players do NOT need to switch between characters at any point during a game. Should they decide to do so, they must speak with the head DST/VST on site and say that they are doing so. They must also have a current copy of their character sheet, and alter their clothing in some manner to denote the character change. Once they have switched, if they wish to switch back, they must again speak with the ST. Only ONE character may receive the full xp award for the game.

4) The ST explicitly reserves the right to deny or place limits on both characters and visiting/proxied characters whose purpose would hinder the theme and mood of the game. Purposes which would do so include:
Mass-destruction of characters, destruction of plotlines, etc. This limitation is not intended to remove the consequences to PC's actions, but to maintain the mood and theme of the game. That said, IC  consequences for IC actions is the guiding rule.

Proxy rules:
Proxy is allowed with ST approval prior to the game.
If more than 5 PC’s are proxying for a single, overall purpose, all proxies, including character sheet, xp log, and clearly defined plans of action and character responses, must be received prior to three full days (72 hours) before midnight (12:00AM) on the day of game.
It is encouraged that any characters proxying have a local player who will represent their interests and throw challenges on their behalf. If this is not possible, please include a very detailed description of responses to possible actions.

Feeding rules:
We will be using the rules from the MET Requiem book. To wit, the following.

To do a feeding test, you will draw 1 card. If you have any dots in Herd, add those to your draw and that is the amount of vitae you begin game with. If your vitae is low, you may decide to go hunting.

If you decide to go hunting because you have low vitae you will get a hunting draw. You may have a +1 modifier per dot in Haven (Location) if you are near your haven. You may have 1 hunting draw for every 30 minutes you spend hunting. On a successful hunting draw, you may feed as long as you desire from your target.

The test pool for hunting will be determined by your methods, your location, etc. Hunting will be run as a scene, and whatever skills you use to hunt with will apply to your test pool. This will be done individually, unless there is a group hunting together.

Travel risks:
There are a lot of wide open spaces to the west of Boulder, and it's rumored that lupines, wraiths, and who only knows what else are out there. Driving to Boulder from Denver is reasonably safe, but coming through the mountains may be hazardous. Walking through Boulder's streets, anything could happen.

Challenges:
As per the current official Camarilla supplement.

Experience Awards:

We will be using the After a Chapter/Story method for awarding experience. This is from the MET Book, and is defined below.

AFTER A CHAPTER

At the end of each game session, the Storyteller awards between one and five experience points to each character. Every character who took part in the chapter gets one point just for being there, no matter how poorly he fared. Use the following guidelines when determining how many points to hand out to each character thereafter, adding one point for each category that applies. Some characters might be awarded more points than others. Extra points should be based on merit, not favoritism.

1 point — Automatic. Each player gets one point for participating in a chapter.

1 point — Learning Curve. Ask the player what his character learned during the chapter's events. If you agree with his response, award his character one point.

1 point — Roleplaying. The player did a good job of portraying his character, either entertainingly, appropriately, or both. If he veered too far from his character's concept, he might not deserve this reward, but don't be stingy here. Indeed, superlative roleplaying might be worth two points.

1 point — Heroism. Characters who rise to the occasion with truly heroic (or anti-heroic) actions or feats of survival or sheer persistence deserve a point. Do not reward characters who act in stupid, belligerent or suicidal ways just so they can gain the accolades of a hero.

AFTER A STORY

Once a story has concluded, its aftermath provides moments of reflection or self-awareness that might warrant extra experience points, beyond those awarded for the final chapter.

1 point — Success. The characters achieved all or part of their goals.

1 point — Danger. The characters survived against harsh odds and grave dangers.

1 point — Wisdom. The player, and thus his character, devised a brilliant plan or came up with a spontaneous solution that enabled the group to survive or succeed when it might have failed.

1 point — Group Play. (Optional) The player went beyond the norm during the course of the story, not only to help the game itself run smoothly but to encourage others to do the same. This point generally rewards out-of-character actions and can thus be awarded for any number of reasons, including but not limited to the following: leading other players to remain in-character despite outside distractions, assisting in calm arbitration of combat or rule disputes, helping new players and making them feel at home, and providing essential props or other materials for the game.

If you want characters to advance in talent more quickly, feel free to award extra points to get them to the desired level of competence.
