Anadama Bread

Put 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal in a large bowl, pour 2 cups boiling water over it, stir until smooth and let stand for 30 minutes.

Soften 1 pkg. (1 Tblspn.) dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup molasses, 2 tspns. salt, 1 Tblspn. butter or oleo, and the yeast to the cornmeal mixture. stir in
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
and beat thoroughly.

Spoon into two greased loaf pans, cover and let rise in a warm place until double.

Bake at 350F for 45 to 50 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.
