Like everyone else with email,I get my share of "Nigerian scams" .After I received a recent
scam email I decided to play along to see if I could scam the scammer.
What follows are actual email exchanges between one such scammer and myself.I've copied his emails as is;
I've x-ed out my email address on this page for obvious reasons. Otherwise, what you are reading is accurate.
This is an on-going series and I'll keep this updated when I receive more emails from this particular scammer.I've also recently

I am hoping you can keep this as a secret between us two. My name is Misty Meaner. I am the mistress of Robert. I've been secretly monitoring his emails and know of your discussion with him. I am afraid if he gets this inheritance I will be left out completely. I have been waiting for 3 years for him to divorce his current wife and I feel that he is taking advantage of me. I am willing to get you the information you need regarding Robert and we can divide the 12 million between us. I will let you have the original 45% you asked for if you will help me. I am praying that you will not expose my plot to him because he is a very dangerous man and I would fear for my life. I am awaiting your reply and again pray that you will not betray this. I understand you want to work with me and I achieve the deal and you will allow me to have 45% of the us$12million. I am afraid if this will jeopardize the transaction as you mention that Mr. Robert Simms is a very tough man. I can only accept this because if since that Robert Simms is a greedy man and I have told him to allow me have 20% which he refused not minding that all the information of Late Steve Simms is in my position as his private lawyer including his death certificate which will be required by the bank before the money can be released. I can only contact you from a PC at an internet cafe.I am also afraid to call you because I fear there may be a listening device in the telephone where I live.Please let me know what you need in this and contact at this email. Time is important. I can read Mr. Simms email because I have his password and he can change it at any time. I contacted Robert Simms yesterday and inform him that I will not accept the 10% offer knowing fully well that he will take care of all the expenses. I decided to work with you and share the expenses with you and have the 45% which you offered to me. Robert Simms and his friends in South Africa can not jeopardize this transaction because they have no information of the account and the branch where the bank is located here in Nigeria . I believe we should act fast as you said because to avoid them start making contact with the bank head office to locate the branch where the money was deposited.
