Like everyone else with email,I get my share of "Nigerian scams" .After I received a recent
scam email I decided to play along to see if I could scam the scammer.
What follows are actual email exchanges between one such scammer and myself.I've copied his emails as is;
I've x-ed out my email address on this page for obvious reasons. Otherwise, what you are reading is accurate.

I must tell you it was very unpleasant. The first night we were there he had a dinner party. After drinking many glasses of wine Robert began to talk about you to his guests. I tell you it was horrible to hear him laughing about you and saying many disrespectful things about you. He also let it be known that his friends from South Africa will arrive in Nigeria sooner than he originally thought. I will try to answer your form. You know my full name is Misty Meaner. My age is 22 born April 1, 1984. I do not know what to put as my occupation. You know I am Robert’s mistress and I have no occupation. I hope this will not hurt our chances to claim the money. I do not have a fax and you know I am afraid to give my phone number and address….what if someone calls when Robert is there? We would be found out. Please advise me what I should do. You said there may be expenses on our part. I need to know how much you think the amount will be. Robert does not give me much money but he is very generous with diamonds and I can sell them to get money if we need it. I am waiting to hear from you so I can understand what I need to do. Misty. I will advise you to follow my instruction as we must surprise every one of them even Robert. It is important you send your address because without your address the application letter can not be writing without your address and also I will need your address for assurance that when you receive the inheritance I will be able to locate you. You can also send your telephone number and indicate the time which I will be calling you to avoid any problem from Robert but I will only submit your email address to the bank to contact you only through email. I understand you can raise money through selling diamond but it is better I confirm from the bank after the application letter is submitted the requirements needed before we can know how much it will cost to get the requirements. In my position as a lawyer I have some money which I hope if it will be ok I will not bother you to sell your diamond since we are working as a team to achieve success. The address and phone number you have on the application is that of a PRISON near here.
