Lesson Plan Goldmines

The following list includes some of the best places I've found on the Net for lessons, activities, projects. Some involve the use of the Web, but many are simply wonderful ideas for regular "ordinary " low tech classrooms. They are simply published on the Web instead of a journal.

It's kind of like browsing through the file cabinets of some really creative colleagues in your field. Everyone enjoys sharing their best ideas. Have fun!

Blue Web'N

Pacific Bell has a wonderful educational site with a content grid with web-based tutorials, activities, projects, lessons and lists of other sites and resources organized by curriculum area. If you give them your e-mail address they'll send you a weekly update of new sites they've added. Really worth looking through!

Teacher Link Resources

You'll find links to wonderful educational web sites, lesson plans, worksheets, pictures, maps, and much more. These are all organized by subject. One choice, Big Sky has hundreds of lessons on practically every subject we teach including some creative thinking and clever activities for Advisee type groups.

Webquest Collection

A collection of webquest activities on many curriculum areas from Bernie Dodge and his students and friends. The collection includes materials for grades K-12 (many can be modified for a different age group) using his extensively researched format for webquests.

Teachers.Net Lesson exchange

A place to gather and share favorite activities with other online teachers. A sizable collection of K-12 activities created by and for educators looking for new ideas. More than 150 lessons are here dealing with a variety of subjects and grade level. To add your idea, just complete a few bits of info and past your idea directly into the form. And if you don't see a lesson plan that covers your areas of inquiry, submit a request for your specific topic and or grade level.
