Thursday morning we got up around 9 like usual. Rob packed the car while I threw the last bit of things together. We stopped at McDonalds and hit the Wawa, which is becoming a con tradition. We got on the highway around 11:30 or so and we were off. No stops, no waits, nothing. Drove straight there. We got a little traffic, but it was more or less congestion and slow moving traffic. No stopping and waiting. We arrived at the hotel and parked the car. I saw a chipmunk scurry across the street right before I turned into the hotel!
We went into the lobby of the hotel and walked around a bit. People who were with the con told us the hotel was not allowing people to check in until 3pm. I got a call from Sarah and she said she was coming to con. I also called home and called Jessie to get her ass to the hotel! After grabbing our Gameboys and Pokémon FR/LG we headed back into the lobby to sit down. A few minutes later Jessie returned my call and said she would be up shortly. She arrived around 2:30pm and we sat and talked until check in. After we checked in she helped haul our shit up to our room. We were in room 1906 and it was definitely way up there. Got in the room, unpacked, and wanted to play DDR. Unfortunately we couldn't unscrew the cable stuff because it had blockers on it so Jessie said she would buy the adaptor for the AV since we left ours home. Hit the EB down the way and went to Jessies house for her DDR and pad. Also went past Sham's house just to see the place. He lives in this big old mansion. I wondered if it had a gift shop! We also stopped at Eckerd to get beer. Now we have bought beer in all the good places, Eckerd, Rite Aid (Otakon), and CVS (Katsucon). We got back to the hotel only to find that the hotel was fucking mean and wouldn't let you use the AV jacks on the front of the TV. We sat around and watched crap while wishing for DDR. Jessie said she would bring her TV from home early tomorrow. Rob, Jessie, and I got our schedules out for the activities of con to see what we wanted to do tomorrow. The registration opened at 10am and the next thing we wanted to do was go to the game room. After that there was "Craftmaking: Ears and Tails" at 7:00pm. I had ordered Dominos while they were out so it got there right before they did. We ate, had a few beers, and then Jessie went home.
Friday morning Rob got up and went downstairs to get our badges while I got dressed and showered. They wouldn't let him get my badge even though he had my drivers license, so after I had finished getting dressed and all I went downstairs. He was telling me about how he had been in the elevator with Camino and that they were drunk already! "My kind of guys" he said. Jessie got there and brought her TV. We set it all up and played DDR for a little bit. Then played Bongos and Mario Kart until it was time to go to the workshop. Jessie and I did the ears and tails while Rob hung out with Sarah and found 3D. We finished our ears (because we wanted to go out and drink instead of make tails) and headed out to get some beer. We also ran into Ben and he was tied up to a table in the artists’ alley. After stopping at the first CVS and finding they didn't have any Smirnoff, 3D suggested the Rite Aid near her because they had JD Twisters at that store. Rob didn't care so we went there. They didn't have the JD Twisters, but 3D and Jessie each got Triple Black and Rob got plain Smirnoff Ice. 3D said she was hungry so Jessie hit the drive thru. Rob and I were both also hungry so after she hit the drive thru we went inside. I got 3 $1 chickens and a frostee and Rob got 2 $1 chickens, 1 $1 drink and a frostee. We giggled about the name of the man who gave us our food *Taz*. We all went back to the hotel to drink some and just have a good time. Ben called and came up to the room. We finally got tired of the room and went downstairs. We met a lot of nice people like bits and pieces of Camino, Psy, Ryan, and Greg Ayres (Who I am calling Goku Greg from now on!) We had a great time downstairs and hoped we would do it again the following night. Rob and I went off to play DDR for an hour or two when Jessie went home at 3:00am. We played and then went outside because we were hot. Cooled off, told some jokes, and went to bed.
Saturday morning I didn't feel like getting up so Rob went downstairs to check out the con. I got a shower and got dressed and Rob came back with a surprise. He had bought the pre-reg for Anime Mid-Atlantic. It was nice of him, except for the fact that he spelled my last name wrong. Ass! I had to go all the way downstairs and change it! The guy was really nice about it though. He gave me a new paper and I filled the information out all on my own. We did a quick run through of the dealer’s room, but it blew like the day before so we continued on to something else. We didn’t get to the Plushie Con, and I didn’t get to the Prismacolor Workshop either. We hit the game room again for some fun, which was short lived! We headed back to the room to play DDR and stuff. Jessie got there and parked her, but I was starving and wanted food. Fucking parking lot was full and I was afraid to move my car. Oh well, had to eat and Rob needed smokes so we left. Jessie crammed into the back of my car (I’m sorry Jess) and we hit the local mall. Before hitting the mall, I checked out a pamphlet for the mall so I knew exactly where we were going since I know Rob despises malls immensely. I figured out that we should park and go in by Lord and Taylor because the Ken-Taco-Hut was right there and there was a CVS upstairs right by there. Rob and I got a grande combo and Jessie got food. We headed back to the hotel and figured we would do a lap of the parking lot before parking in some illegal place. Bingo, a spot was open! I flew down the isle and did all this kind of race-style-Christmas-mall-parking technique and got the spot. WHEW! We headed back upstairs to the room and ate our food, played a few games and headed down to the Bushido Blade Demo. It smelled like Otaku in there so we left. After finding 3D we decided some liquor was in order. She had a bottle of Schnapps and that didn’t sound bad to Rob. Jessie and I were starving so we headed to get food and beer. We hit the Eckerd that we went to Thursday night and then hit the McDonalds on the way back. Jessie got a better parking spot than before and we were ecstatic. I hauled the beer, smokes for 3D, and my McDonalds up to the “lobby area” where we found 3D and Rob. *3D if you ever put something on my boyfriend’s head again I’ll kill you when I get back instead of just making him take it off, understand? That’s my head and from what I understand, you didn’t ask first you just plopped it there. He’s polite and didn’t tell you to move it, but I’m not so polite and next time there’s going to be an ass kicking! * We were downstairs in the “lobby area” hanging out, eating, and drinking. We went back up to the hotel room so they could drink the Schnapps and so Rob could get ready for the DDR Light and Standard Tourney. Ben also wanted to take advantage of the fact that 3D had brought food and a hotpot. After much drinking, some soup and shit we headed down to the game room for Rob’s DDR Tourney. Unfortunately it smelled like Otaku and vinegar and I had a migraine so I left to go throw up. It was fun! I sat outside the game room and had 3 people take my picture. I wasn’t in costume I was wearing regular clothes with Shrek ears on. *shrugs* Guess that is how it works at con. Hot people get their picture taken while there’s no one around! Jessie came out to tell me Rob had advanced to the second round. I guess that meant I should come inside and check it out. After he lost I took off to find some aspirin, or something! I asked Justin if he knew if anyone had any and he gave me his normal half-assed answer. I guess now that he has a 15-year-old girlfriend I’m too good for him now. Oh well, stupid 20 year old boys! I went up to Con Ops just for the fart of the imagination chance they could help me. One of the people in there understood my plight and gave me some Excedrin even though she wasn’t supposed to. I’m old enough and have enough medical background to know what I can take and what I can’t. I did call my mom first to make sure it was okay! I found some water and took those things like they were candy! We caught up with Jessie and 3D again and went back up to the room for some beer before we went outside. We found Goku Greg on the way outside so we did some photo op and autographs while we passed him. He had been heading up to the “VIP’s Only” party. *giggle* It got shut down and everyone was outside with us by then. We hung out by my car because we didn’t want to get into trouble for drinking out in the “Lobby Area.” Ryan and 3D hit it off and there was talk about them heading back to his hotel. Rob tried to get her to change her mind about going since she didn’t know him, but she wanted to go anyway. She was being very close to him and I got pissed. *Future reference there 3D… there’s no reason you need t o talk to my boyfriend in a secluded place out of my view. Strike two!* I took off and went back up to the room, telling Jessie that I wasn’t in the mood to be put in that position. I figured I would go upstairs and lay down. Jessie was okay with that; I told her she could get her stuff when she wanted. Rob hollered at me, and I flipped him off from afar. I jumped into the elevator and went to my room. Just a few steps behind me Rob caught up to me in the room. I expressed my dislike with 3D at that point and told him I was going to bed. He decided that I wasn’t going to be and gave me reason to stay up. We headed back downstairs and found that 3D and Ryan had left. Jessie was beat and couldn’t leave because she was 3D’s ride, Ryan’s brother didn’t know he had left and I’m sure wasn’t happy at all about the situation, and we weren’t happy about them leaving either because that is fucked up for Jessie and Ryan’s brother. We did hang with them for a while, the guy from Drexel came back out and was chilling with us, and Goku Greg came around. Ben and Psy also appeared, not at the same time or with each other mind you. We were having a little party down in the “Lobby Area.” Goku Greg said he was heading off to bed, Ben left, and Psy was trying her hardest to stay up, but was failing miserably. Finally she headed off to bed also. Around 5am I decided that Jessie should go home and get some sleep. I also figured that we could load up the car and get Jessie’s stuff to her car before all the masses woke up. We got up to the hotel room and there was a paper there that said they charged my credit card. I grabbed my car keys and went downstairs to bitch. They said we could check out and still stay until noon. I got the money out of the car, checked out, and headed back upstairs with a cart. We loaded the stuff into the cars and 3D called from her escapade. She wanted a ride home. Previously to her calling, Jessie said she would take us up to the close gas station so Rob could get smokes before we went to bed. We ripped into 3D the whole time she was with us. Finally falling into the bed around 7:30am, it was about time for some sleep.
Sunday morning I got up at 11:00am when the alarm went off and got in the shower and got dressed. I tried to wake Rob up each step of the way. He got into the shower and I took the Halloween decorations down. Can’t say I’m not nice. We grabbed the last of our shit and headed to the car. We put the stuff in the car and went to the game room for the Super Smash Bros Melee Tourney that was supposed to be at 1pm. The Tourney had been moved to 2:30pm and we decided to head home. We gave hugs and stuff and headed to the car. After changing at the car into our Eagles gear, we felt much better and decided to stay. Too late, Jessie had left and gotten a good bit away, and we didn’t want her to have to come back just for a few hours. We checked in on the Eagles game and hit the game room. We played some DDR and watched the people play Melee. We walked around the hotel for a bit and I was really tired. We sat somewhere and I took a little nap. We played in the tourney (the most fucked up one I have ever been involved in) and headed home. There was almost no traffic on the way home and we made it home in time for some trick-or-treaters. We ate candy and took a little nap. Played some games, and went to bed.
