Dedicated to the memory of Fount Beattie who was one of the first six Mosby Rangers and a life-long friend to the famous Civil War Partisan Ranger, John Singleton Mosby. After the Civil War, the Mosby and Beattie families became close friends to the end

Fount Beattie's former home, Green Spring, is now owned and maintained by the Fairfax County Park Authority. Located near Annendale, Virginia. Beattie Reunions have been hosted there on an irregular basis since 1987.

Although not a blood relation to the Beatties, Henry Thomas Harrison, was the father of Fount Beattie's daughter-in-law, Irene "Rena" Harrison Riggs Beattie. In addition, Harrison's wife, Laura Broders Harrison Riston, had four daughters by her second marriage to George Washington Riston. The Beattie and the Riston families were closely associated throughout their lives.
Harrison became a spy for CSA General James Longstreet in 1863 and is famously known as "Spy Harrison," the scout who delivered valuable intelligence to Generals Lee and Longstreet prior to the battle of Gettysburg. Harrison was instrumental in the decision to move Lee's forces in the direction of Gettysburg thus changing the course of history.

These pictures are available to family members and historians researching any of these families. In addition, there are a number of images of the Beatties living at Green Spring and The Oaks, both near Annendale, Virginia.
Photographs of Old Glade Cemetery, Westwood Cemetery,and Saint James Cemetery are also available for viewing.
A recent addition to this collection is a galley of images taken at the site of Fount Beattie's boyhood home, Town House, in Chilhowie, Virginia in 2006.
