Short Takes

Another failed doomsday prediction...

Woo! We were lucky this time! Planet X did not destroy our planet in May 2003. According to the Planet X promoters, Earth was supposed to have had a close encounter with a large planet or comet that would cause Earth's magnetic poles to shift and lots of other nasty disasters last month. We are already in June and we are still here happy as a clam. See the article for more details.

It is about time!

On June 2, 2003, the Federal Trade Commission has charged the marketers of the Q-Ray ionized bracelets with false advertising and making unsubstantiated claims. The claims are that ionized bracelets provide fast acting pain relief that has been substantiated by scientific testing. As noted in this newsletter, a Mayo Clinic study has found the opposite to be true. A temporary restraining order prohibiting such unsubstantiated claims and freezing the marketers' assets has been issued by a federal judge. See the article for more details.
