SH001-This
is a Government Issue revolutionary war horn. It was used by the military
and also used as a cannon primer horn. It is about 14 inches long. The
finial at the plug is removed to facilitate filling. This style horn was
carried by the Lewis and Clark expedition on their western trek. |
SH002-This
is a Berks County screw tip horn. This style of horn was made in Berks,
York. Lancaster and Dauphin counties. Each county had a slightly different
style. This horn is engraved with traditional style wildlife. They were
usually anywhere from 12 to 17 inches in length. |
SH003-This
is a French and Indian War period horn, about 17 inches in length. They
were usually engraved with map scenes, the British seal, winged griffons
or animal figures. This horn has chip carving at the throat. There are
many of these horns with military scenes. |

SH004-This
is a Map horn with chip carving. It is a lip horn, used to attach the
carrying strap. This horn is about 15 inches long. They were used from
1750 to 1785. Engraving ranged from military to traditional hunting scenes
and slogans about liberty. |
SH005-This
is a flattened horn that can be between 6 and 11 inches in length. They
are made to carry on the side or in the pocket of a hunting coat. Usually
they are engraved with modern style wildlife, such as bear, turkeys, deer,
squirrels, elk and other wildlife. This style horn is the most popular. |
SH006-This
is a Shot Flask for use with a smoothbore. The mechanical spout measures
the amount of shot. The size of the horn can vary depending on the amount
of shot to be stored. They can be engraved with modern wildlife or traditional
scenes. The mechanical spout is a copy of an original. |

SH007-This
horn is a Pennsylvania Dutch motif with Hex signs, measuring about 12
inches in length. |
SH008-This
is a nautical horn with mermaids and sea nymphs, measuring about 12 to
14 inches in length. |
SH009-This
is a traditional style horn with a modern wildlife scene, measuring about
12 inches in length. |

SH010-This
is a horn mug, with a hammered brass handle. These mugs hold from 8 to
12 ounces. There are smaller versions without a handle that hold 4 to
6 ounces. There are also gill cups that will hold 3 to 4 ounces. |
SH011-These
are primer horns. One has a Treso valve and the other has a wooden stopper.
These horns are 4 to 5 inches in length |
SH012-This
is a rum flask. It has two staples to carry with a strap or can be placed
on a flat surface. The horn is lined with brewers pitch to prevent leakage.
They are between 6 and 8 inches high and can be engraved with modern wildlife
or traditional scenes. |

horn is engraved with the U.S.S. Independance. It is 14" and has some
chipped carving. |
SH020-The
mugs will hold about 12 ounces. They are lined with brewers pitch. Any scene
you desire. Traditional or contemporary. |
