I received an email from Robert Starks of Fabulous Films. MCOG is now available to watch on Hulu! It appears that Hulu is only available to those in the US.

I've got my US DVD's and have been quite happy with them. I also got some information about the airing of MCOG in New Zealand. The amount of information James Ashwell gave me was astounding.
The Official DVD set available in the UK and Australia. The company responsible for the official DVD is release is Fabulous Films. The website is at http://www.fabulousfilms.co.uk
Fabulous Films released the DVD's April 7th 2009. There has also been talk of sequels.
As a large fan of the series, lets hope that Howard Ryshpan and the rest of the English voice cast reprise their roles! The main cast of children and Mendoza all want to do it!

9-12-05: Barcelona Spain, here is one of the streets featured in Episode 1. I originally saw this in the French Fan Magazine, and during my trip to Barcelona, I saw the street. It is behind the Santa Eulila Cathedral.

MPEG Movies and Missing Scenes – 12-6-07 re-added with Japanese missing scenes
The reason that I chose MPEG as my video format is that it is a standard, and it keeps "near" broadcast quality. It is also playable on multiplatforms and some standalone DVD players. The audio was cleaned up with Sonic Foundry's Soundforge and then converted to MPEG1 VCD using TMPEG. These MPEGs are a good sample of what my video CD set looked like. The missing scenes were integrated into my DVD set. These are small clips of episodes for informational use only.

V4 Episode 2 Missing Scene 14.8 mb. This is my favorite of all the missing scenes. The USA English version was missing part of this scene, while the Japanese was missing the daydreaming sequence. It is an extended scene of the Esperanza going into the golden butterflies, re-edited with German and Japanese footage with great video and audio! MPEG1 DVD Sample. The name of this piece of music according to the original cue sheets is "Condor Electronic" it is also known as St. Elmos Fire. |

Episode 4 Pedro and Sancho sleeping 9.8 mb. A scene where Pedro and Sancho find themselves in each others arms while sleeping. The reaction of them seeing one another is only in the Japanese version or on my bootleg DVD set. The English audio I used was from another episode, and fit the situation almost perfectly. Episode 4 Building the Raft 6.18 mb. A scene where Mendoza, Pedro and Sancho are constructing the raft. I always wondered how they were able to make the raft in such a short period of time, they actually had a lot longer to chop down the mast, tear up the floor, and put the barrels on the raft. |

Episode 4 Alternate Ending! 13.3 mb. This scene is not nearly as dramatic in the Japanese version. Our heroes merely paddle their way to the island and arrive. The scene in the English/French version was different and they had faced the sharks. Some of this scene can be seen in the Previous/To Follow segments. |

Episode 32 Missing Scene 3.08 mb. This scene was cut on the BBC, German, and Polish airings that I am aware of. It was aired in the US and on the French DVD's. It shows an extended scene of Pedro and Sancho using the Olmecs back for a see saw. He deserved it! VCD sample. |

Episode 32 Missing Line 2.47 mb. "All hells let loose" was cut from the American Nickelodeon Broadcast. The cut to this line was so well done I would have never caught it without audio dubbing. High quality video provided by Mark Yates, and audio provided by James King. VCD sample. |

Episode 38 cut audio 1.21 mb. The US English Version contains this scene, but it seems to have been cut due to language. "Go on up Damn you climb higher" Has been replaced with "Go on up *obvious silence* climb higher". Why was this cut? Damn and hell were used throughout the series, including Gomez saying "make them pay for the imputence of that damn inca" and "Fire! Fire! Damn your eyes fire!" and most notably Gaspard saying "Damn those Kids!" VCD Sample The voices are of Richard Dumont, and Athur Grosser. |
Update: After receiving several more of the Japanese episodes and talking
with people I found a few more "trimmed" scenes to the
- All episodes, the documentaries were *NOT* aired (rumor had it that sometimes they were, but I never remembered any, and I was watching Nickelodeon since the days of You can't do that on Television, and Livewire)
- All episodes have slight trimmings made to sequence for insertion of commercials (maybe a fade or a cut to the music)
- All episodes in PAL or SECAM run at a faster speed making audio dubbing very difficult. But with some math and soundforge I get good results. Resampling the audio without applying the anti-alias filter does a great job!
- Episode 1 - BBC copy starts off with the narration instead of the God shot in Episode 1
- Episodes 2-4 in the
- Episode 6 in japanese starts at the end of episode 5 with Tao pointing
the Crossbow at Esteban and saying "and the 3 grownups are they here
too?". It contains one small trimming of the long shot of Mendoza

- Episodes 8 - 10 Different background music than the French Episodes. Some of the German episodes contain different Music cues as well.
- Episode 11 - I didn't notice at first and didn't include it in the movies, but when the temple is crashing down, there is a closeup shot of one of the spanish soldiers in the doorway as it is falling. This was removed from the US Nickelodeon Airing.
- Episode 20 - Missing a small scene of the condor flying after
- Episode 26 - Missing a small bit of the eagle flying after she knocks Tetiola into the cliff. Also the line "Did you think I made a mistake" said by Tao when Pedro and Sancho asked him to check the manuscript again was cut.
- Episodes 27 - 39 are all 4% faster than the previous episodes but not quite as fast as the pal copies. It appeared that at this point Nickelodeon got tired of making slight trimmings to run in the time allowed, so they sped up the episodes slightly.
- Episode 36 - One of the airings of the BBC is missing the opening sequence of the Olmecs using their machine to vaporize the Mayans
- Episode 39 - A small cut was made to Kalmec opening the cooling valves, and you can hear a slight misalignment to the music. He opens up 3 cooling valves in the

- The airing in New Zealand had some documentaries missing, containing the sacrifice scenes. Also episode 36 was shortened and ended with an overhead shot of Esteban swimming toward the island. The episode airing was messed up in that they showed Episode 20 before episode 17. - Thanks to James Ashwell for this information. The details he gave me were great!

These are of MCOG voices used in other series, such as Belle and Sebastian, Ulysses 31 and Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea. Anick Faris was the first to come forth to tell the Ulysses 31 mailing list, and started the first list of identifying the voice actors. She gave this.
