About the Company
The Skylark Tappers regularly produce and perform their own concerts.
These performances feature a wide variety of tap styles and musical
selections, along
with well-respected guest artists.
The Skylark Tappers came into being in 1983 when tap teacher Claire
Hallsted gathered her students for a commercial shoot promoting the
restoration of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon.
Now under the artistic direction of Judy
Tibbles, the company continues to devote much time and energy to
sharing the joy and artistry of tap dance.
The Skylark Tappers dance company promotes the
art of
tap
dance by performing a repertoire of classic and contemporary tap
pieces. The company has appeared at numerous events and functions
in Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas.
