If you haven't registered Nova, you will need to do so before continuing. |
| 2. |
Create an empty text file called 'pilotlog.txt', using SimpleText (OS9) or TextEdit (OSX) or any other text editor. Close the file or quit the text editor before proceeding.
A note for TextEdit users: Make sure TextEdit's preferences are set to save in Text format instead of it's default of Rich Text Format (RTF).
Additional note: A debug log can also be generated by using the filename of 'debuglog.txt'.
Windows User Note 1: This file can be created without using an editor by right-clicking and selecting New -> Text Document.
Windows User Note 2: Be aware of the setting of the 'Hidden Extensions' feature. If it's enabled the pilotlog.txt file may look to be named correctly, but may have an extra .txt appended to it. Nova will not recognize such a file.

| 3. |
Place this file in the same folder as the EV Nova Application.

Windows User Note: Nova for Windows version 1.0.6 appears to be inconsistent in the location of the pilotlog file. Placing it in the Application folder will write the data on program launch while placing the pilotlog in the Pilots folder will write the file when a pilot is opened. |
| 4. |
Launch EV Nova. |
| 5. |
Load your pilot file (click 'Open Pilot' button, select the pilot you want to examine). |
| 6. |
Quit or Hide EV Nova. |
| 7. |
View or post (copy/paste) the newly updated contents of the 'pilotlog.txt' file. |
