In order to have your Radio
professionally modified, you must:
1) Hold a valid
Amateur radio license issued by the FCC or DOC.
2) Have a radio that
is either NEW or 100% functional.
3) Agree to follow
current and any future FCC rules regarding out of band transmitting.

FCC Rules regarding
modifying Amateur radios:
Amateur transmitters do not require Certification. There is
nothing
in the Rules that prohibits the modification of Amateur equipment
for
use, including modifications to transmit on non-amateur frequencies.
Once modified, the user is responsible for its proper use. This is
often done for MARS or CAP use.
The use of modified amateur equipment is prohibited on designated
land mobile or public safety frequencies since FCC certified
equipment is required.
All modified amateur equipment must be compliant with the spurious
response limits as specified in Part 97.307(d).
