AMSOIL Super Duty Oil Filters
Most conventional oil filters use only a thin layer of porous cellulose as their filtration media, limiting their ability to catch fine particles and providing low storage capacity and short service life. They tend to become obstructed fairly quickly, forcing the relief valve open and allowing dirty. unfiltered oil into the engine.
A SUPERIOR OIL FILTER
AMSOIL Super Duty Oil filters (SDF) offer the best possible balance of long life, high capacity and efficiency, outperforming competing oil filters. Through it, special cellulose, synthetic and glass blend media, the AMSOIL. SDF provides maximum filtration and oil flow for extended drain intervals of 12,500 miles or six months (whichever comes first) in gasoline fueled engines, making it perfect for use with AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil.
The AMSOIL SDF is constructed with a blended depth-type media, trapping dirt and other wear-causing contaminants throughout its entire thickness and keeping filtration efficient and oil clean. The AMSOIL SDF traps and holds more contaminants than conventional oil fillers, in fact, the AMSOIL SDF Oil Filter has up to a 75 percent better combined efficiency / capacity rating than other popular oil filters.
ANTI-DRAIN BACK VALVES
On filter installations where the mounting is sideways or upright, dirty oil can drain out of the oil filter after the engine is shut off, contaminating the clean oil. The AMSOIL SDF features an anti-drain back valve that effectively keeps contaminants trapped in the filter when the engine is not running.
SDF UPGRADE
AMSOIL is constantly searching for ways to further improve its already top-of-the-line products. Because AMSOIL Super Duty Oil Filters are used for longer periods of time than conventional filters, they endure more exposure to the
heat
and hydrocarbons that can gradually degrade the elastomers
comprising anti-drain back valves. This degradation can cause
engine noise for longer periods of time upon cold start.
To guard against degradation and maximize filter life, AMSOIL Super Duty Oil Filters now incorporate a new proprietary elastomer compound. This new compound, as indicated by the SAE HS806 test methodology, lasts three to four times longer than the previously used material. Although this upgrade is not visible, even when the filter is cut open, it keeps the anti-drain back valve in top condition throughout the filters service life and reduces engine noise upon cold starts. All AMSOIL Super Duty Oil Filters manufactured since late spring 2001 feature the new proprietary elastomer compound.
HASTINGS FILTERS
AMSOIL also offers premium Hastings filters to complement the AMSOIL filter line. Hastings offers the widest range of filters in the industry, covering virtually every transportation and equipment application.
To find the right filter for your application:
Option 1: Consult the Oil Filter & Air Filter Search under the Product Information section of the AMSOIL corporate website (www.amsoil.com).
Option 2: Consult the G-194 Cross Reference and Automotive Applications Guide, or for heavy duty applications, consult the G-1555 Hastings Product and Heavy Duty Applications Guide.
