Special Video.   Title: Daleks - The Early Years

Peter Davison hosts a trip through the BBC Archives to view three rare episodes from the missing years of the series that
feature the Doctor's most popular adversaries: the Daleks.
1 & 2. The Daleks' Master Plan - Episode 5 (Counter Plot) and Episode 10 (Escape Switch)
These are the only two surviving episodes from this twelve-part Dalek epic.  In the fifth episode, the Doctor and
Steven try to escape the forces of Mavic Chen and his allies, the Daleks, and are accidentally teleported to the
jungle planet Mira.  In the tenth episode, the pursuit has continued into the past, to ancient Egypt, and the Doctor's
old enemy, the Meddling Monk, has become involved.  Starring William Hartnell as the Doctor.
from Serial V, Episode Nos. 95 and 100.  Originally transmitted on 11 December 1965 and 15 January 1965 on BBC1.
3.    The Evil of the Daleks - Episode 2
This is the only surviving episode from this seven-part story.  The Doctor and Jamie are lured to the business of
Edward Waterfield and spirited 100 years back in history to Victorian times, where the Daleks plan to force the
Doctor to conduct a test on Jamie.  Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor.
from Serial LL, Episode No. 164.  Originally transmitted on 27 May 1967 on BBC1.

Also included are interviews with Terry Nation (the writer who created the Daleks), Raymond Cusick (the BBC designer
who originally designed and built the Daleks), Roy Skelton (Dalek Voice artist), and John Scott Martin (the most veteran
Dalek Operator of them all).  Also included are trailers and clips from other Dalek stories from the black and white era,
and footage from the Dalek movies that starred Peter Cushing.

Video written and produced by John Nathan-Turner.
