The 2009-2010 season will be dedicated to
these men!
Welcome
to the website of the Southeastern Massachusetts Baseball Umpires
Association, Inc. The SMBUA is a non-profit corporation whose members
are devoted to offering the highest standards of baseball officiating
for area high schools and amateur baseball leagues. We are a proud
affiliate board of the
Massachusetts Baseball Umpires Association (MBUA).
The
active membership of the SMBUA provides baseball officials to oversee the conduct of the
game of high school baseball at the varsity and sub-varsity levels
throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Active
and associate members officiate in numerous summer and fall baseball
programs including youth, American Legion, AAU, and adult baseball
leagues in the region.
The
SMBUA is dedicated to recruiting and training men and women from the
communities we serve to become baseball umpires. While our main emphasis
is providing and preparing high school umpires, we welcome anyone who is
interested in officiating baseball at any level to become part of the
organization. Learn about the interpretation and application of baseball
rules, the mechanics of good on-field umpiring, and enjoy the
camaraderie of talking baseball and officiating with fellow umpires.
We welcome visitors to our website and
invite you to browse the offerings and follow the links presented here
to learn more about us. If you’re interested in exploring the
opportunity to become a baseball umpire, please contact us. We look
forward to hearing from you.
