What is the e-Book Club?

This is a self-paced, honor system program. That means no pressure to complete a book by a date. That also means we trust that you don't just go out and rent the movie!

The way it works:

• Everyone will make a minimum of 3 book recommendations. If you wish to make more than 3, feel free to do so (Please make sure the books are accessible to everyone - books that can be found at Barnes and Noble, Half Price Books, and better yet - your local library).
• Please try to read at least one book recommended by each person. The point is to try different things. I can't force you to, but just give it a try! You might be surprised.
• When you finish a book, please send me an e-mail (smeddley@comcast.net) on your general thoughts. I will post your comments in the next newsletter. And please participate - don't be afraid to share your thoughts. And don't be offended if people don't agree with you – everyone has different tastes!
• Approximately whenever, I may ask you for more recommendations. Then I will send out an updated newsletter, full of more great books to try.

Why join the e-Book Club?

Do you love to read? Are you always looking for new things to read? Do you not like the confinement and pressure of a structured book club, or maybe don’t have the time to make it to the meetings? Well, then, e-Book Club may be for you.

Are you thinking, yeah, but I really don’t read that much… That’s not a problem! Whether you read on book a week or one book a year, you can still be a part. That’s the beauty of it – it’s self-paced and without pressure. So kick back, enjoy the newsletters and contribute what you can.

How do I join the e-Book Club?

Just send me an e-mail at smeddley@comcast.net with the subject line “Join e-Book Club.” (The subject line is important so I can pick it out of the heaps of junk e-mail I get and refuse to open) I will send you back a membership form (don’t worry, there’s no fee) and you complete it and return it to me – and you and your suggestions will appear in our next newsletter! Oh, and I will never sell your e-mail address – I hate SPAM as much as the next person.
