Our House...
(is a very, very, very odd house... with two steps in the hall... repainting is a ball.... soon everything will be the way I want...)

I didn't actually take a picture of the front of the house when we did the inspection, nor have I gotten around to going it since then. But I do have the picture that the county took a few years ago, and it's pretty much the same now. Except the windows and doors have been changed. The front door is now white, and the windows are no longer single-paned aluminum windows, but white vinyl double-paned windows. A few the previous owners had replaced, including the sliding glass door and the front picture window (which now is a picture window flanked by two casement windows), but the other 14 windows are weighing heavily on my credit card... However, it's worth it to have windows that stay open and actually lock!

We need to cut down on the landscaping, re-grade the front yard, and generally do a bit of clean-up. We've removed a pond that was in the landscaped area and plan on putting in a birdbath when we re-do the landscaping. We also have a stone Jayhawk on the front step now, an essential piece of yard art. Eventually I'd like to paint the outside a nice slate blue and white, but that can definitely wait. The yellow's a but "eh" but it's livable for now.

The house is two stories (obviously) with a basement. I've sketched out some rough floor plans to give you an idea of the layout. They are not - gasp! - to scale. Click on the name of the room to go to a page about that room. To see pictures of the yard, click on the link below.
