Shadow (my baby)

Welcome to the "All things dog" page. This is where I get to show off my baby and share information on spoiling your pooch silly. Recently, a lot of my crafting has been dog-realated. I make toys, blankets, and beds for dogs, as well as items for dog lovers. I also enjoy baking home-made dog biscuits. My favortie recipes:

Biscuits

2 ½ C whole wheat flour
½ C non-fat dry milk powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
6 Tbsp Margarine
1 egg

Mix ingredients with about ½ C cold water. Knead for 3 minutes. Dough should form a ball. Roll ½´thick and cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 30 minutes at 350º. Interesting variations: Add 3 Tbsp of liver powder, powdered chicken or beef bouillon, or dried soup mix.

Peanut Butter and Honey Cookies

1 heaping tsp peanut butter
1 heaping Tbsp honey
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c flour
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup Crisco shortening

Combine all ingredients. Spoon mixture onto cookie sheet sprayed lightly with vegetable oil spray. Bake in pre-heated 350º oven for 15-20 minutes or until edges are browning.

Apple Cinnamon Drops

1 large apple
1 C oatmeal
¼ C honey
1-½ C flour
½ C water
½ tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 ° F. Core, slice and mince the apple (use a food processor if you have one). Combine all of the ingredients to for a stiff dough. Spoon the dough by rounded teaspoons onto an ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Press down or stamp the balls with a cookie stamp. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove from oven and flip each cookie. Reduce oven temperature to 325 ° F and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Let cool overnight.
