During the (2nd week?) of November, the Discovery Corps and Long Beach, Wa. had many Lewis & Clark festivities. Our Newfoundland Club was invited to bring some dogs to the Neptune Theater on Saturday, Nov. 12. In attendance were Cliff & Julie Stranburg with Subedei & Klunker, Jim, Michael, Benjamin (?)& Lena with Hanna & Shannon, Laurie,Lyndsay, & Bethany Ewert with Morgan, and Justin (?) & Justine, with Porter. R.J. Brown (Pvt. Shannon) was the spokesperson along with Mike Dotson (Capt. Meriwether Lewis) while the theater showed various movies of Sacagawea & the Expedition. The dogs were invited to sit down the middle aisle during the shows. Many visitors greeted the dogs warmly and asked for photos of themselves with the dogs. Quite a few displays of Lewis & Clark history were set up around town. We wandered over to the closest coffee house and the photos show Justin being left outside with the dogs while we were ordering!? He said he was the dog valet parking service? After leaving the theater, we all stayed at the beachhouses of Stranburgs and (?). We had a very pleasant night visiting and relaxing (and a walk on the beach) before heading home on Sunday afternoon. (We all tried to help clean up the place...even Bethany) The girls and I made one more stop at the Lewis & Clark campsite and took in more of the displays. Some of the reenactors on the keelboat asked if they could get their picture with "Seaman" (Morgan). She got a lot of attention in the camp area as Seaman. Then we finally headed home. Another great Newfie weekend!!Lewis and Clark Day
