- Home At Last (Adobe PDF, 434K) is the exciting story of the lives of Margaret's parents and some of the members of their families and friends. The setting goes from the somber part of Southwestern Nebraska before the turn of the century, to the coal-mining country of Western Pennsylvania, and then to the particularly exquisite area of new land in Alberta. The story is about the unique lives of this couple. It speaks of their very active participation in the lives of many others, extending from American Indians to European immigrants to school children in the United States and Canada. Most important of all certainly was the unusual way in which they met each other and fell in love. At the end of the book, a brief synopsis is given of further days in the the lives of these two lovely people...
- Margtown (Adobe PDF, 294K) is the story of Margaret Morgensen Owen. You will notice that the name of the book is a conscripted form of that whole name. It is a picture of Margaret's life pretty-much from start to finish. It covers life from country days in Alberta, Canada where being on a horse, with all sorts of pets around was an ordinary thing, and bringing the cows home from the pasture on the ranch was a fun experience. Moving, during seventh grade, was to a very different life in Iowa. This life-style soon gave way to a time of being especially interested in music. Then the story moves on to college days in Iowa and Minnesota. From there the book begins describing the professional life of the author. There are many moves to such places, as Georgia, Cuba, Virginia, and finally Alabama. After that comes the excitement of married life and mother- hood, not to speak of grandmotherhood. Choir direction, and Bible teaching have been important. Writing has become an avocation, and becoming president of the National Federation of Music in Alabama has been a special experience.
- Wayside Gleanings (Adobe PDF, 1,292K) These are exceptional poems written by Emma Breck Morgensen from a Christian viewpoint. Some of them cover the entire New Testament picture of a Christian life. Others are based on family life. A few of them are humorous, but more are of a serious nature referring to love and tradition. This book was copyrighted and published first in 1948. It was copyrighted again in recent years. This book has been used by many people in various areas of the world through the years. Accompanying graphics have been added to enhance each poem.
- Dark House (Adobe PDF, 434K) This book was written by Emma Breck Morgensen. It was her only book that had not been published when she died. It is the story of a family living in western Pennsylvania during the time before the First World War and immediately after that war. The father is a strictly legalistic character, even with regard to his Christian attitude. This causes a sad division in the family that separates them completely in the time of war. This separation brings changes in the whole family. Members of the family are cut away from each other, and tremendously difficult times come to this splendid Christian family. However, the book finally has a Happy Ending.
