Saturday, September 22nd, was our inaugural shoot. We had 13 shooters and four or five spectators, two of which will be new members soon. The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny. Following the Safety Talk at 9 am, the Main Match was held on three stages. After the Main Match there was a lunch break which featured a huge (and delicious) pot of chili made by Patricia Proctor, and Margaret Proctor-Lyles help her serve it.
After lunch the shooters took part in a Woods Walk to test their hunting skills. Following the Woods Walk some of the shooters adjourned to upper range for a little long range plinking at a buffalo silhouette place at about 350 yards.
Bill Proctor took some video of the shoot. He has edited it from 35 minutes
to about 7 minutes that you can view at:

Top,
The targets set up by Ottawa Creek Bill were not easy to hit, and some weren't even easy to see! Just ask the shooters that shot the Woods Walk. The guys that had never shot a woods walk really liked the shooting. And it appeared that some of them also enjoyed the opportunity to heckle their fellow shooters (in a good natured way, of course.)

Top,
This was truly a blast! The buffalo silhouette was set out at about 350 yards. There were traditional long range rifles like; Sharps, Winchester High-Walls, Remington Rolling Blocks, and an Officer's Model Trapdoor Springfield. And these rifles were ringing the steel buffalo repeatedly, but it was Peevine who stole the show by shooting the buffalo with his pistol!
