9/18—DC Child Protection Lobby  Day

Dear Friends: 

....You can help and make a difference!

....Here are three concrete steps you can take! 

........1. Contact your City Councilmember and ask: "What is your position on the "window" in the Child Protection Bill introduced by Councilmember Barry?

...."Let him or her know that you support it and want to know if he or she does, too. Also tell that you are a constituent and that you vote and talk to your neighbors who also vote. (Let us know if you do this and what the response is - thanks.)

........2. Help us get organizations and groups to support the bill. Think of organizations, committees and groups in your neighborhood and in the city that you participate in or know of. Contact the leader(s) and ask if they would sign a letter of support from the org/group. Any group is appropriate including, sports teams or leagues,  neighborhood club, book club, church/religious group, knitting circle, women's group, alumni group, fraternity/sorority, company or employee group, union, etc. so long as it has members from Wash DC.

........3. Attend the Lobby Day on Sep 18 at the Wilson Building (City Council offices). Let us know you will attend and ask others to attend, too. Your support will help to keep kids safe and will help victims find healing. Have any questions or concerns? Let us hear from you! Attached please find resource info. Please make copies and spread around. Please add your name and/or take off names of others to suit your needs.
