Educational and Professional

  • Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

  • My undergraduate institution. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Specialised in RF/microwave circuit design. Final project: Design and fab of a narrow band 4GHz low noise amplifier.
  • Michigan Tech University

  • Masters in EE, specialised in GaAs and ferroelectric device physics/processing. M.S. project on - Potassium nitrate based ferroelectric memory characterisation. MTU is located in Houghton (upper peninsula of Michigan), yooper-land, very scenic area. Typical snowfall: 7.5m/year!
  • Texas A&M University

  • Second Masters in EE. This time in analogue CMOS IC design. M.S. project on - High-frequency device characterisation using S-parameters. Regarding the central Texas landscape, not much to talk about - cattle, fields and miles of flat countryside.

Currently working in the area of high-speed serial data communications (such as transceivers), clock synthesis and data recovery, for a start-up company called Silicon Bridge. Recent projects managed include, Firewire (IEEE 1394-1995) PHYs and ATM 25.6 PHYs. Previous experience with analog servo frontend (tapedrive), reconfigurable analog circuits etc. Other interests include CMOS RF circuit design and A/D converter design. Early background in GaAs devices - processing and circuit design. Have been in Northern California (San Francisco Bay area) since May 1990.
