National Training Camps

A key to success for any leader is completion of a national training camp. The recently revised NTC is really a must for those seeking to be effective as Ranger leaders. This is a life-changing experience that will make you a better leader. It will challenge you in each of the four gold points - mentally, physically, spititually, socially. Here are some camps in our area. Note: NTC is a prerequisite for all other national camps and that female leaders may attend the Ranger Kids Training Camp. A complete list of camps is available on our national website.

  • NTC in House, VA on June 7-10. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are in the educational field that have not been able to take off for a camp due to their teaching commitments. Also, it is an opportunity for those who are in college and only have the summers off. The minimum required number needed by the pre-registration deadline to make this camp a go is 24 by April 21.
  • NTC in Woodstown, NJ on September 6-9.

As you may know, the National Office has a minimum required number needed by the pre-registration deadline to make these camps a go. Camps have been cancelled in the past only to find out that there would have been enough commanders to make it happen. Please DO NOT procrastinate. Send in your application now. You will not loose any money if the camp is cancelled and if for some reason you cannot make the camp, the money can be transferred to a future camp.

Training Opportunities For Boys

Each summer, SNED offers the Training Academy, a 4-day training event for Discovery, Adventure, and Expedition Ranger age groups. We offer a wide range of camps including survival, backpacking, and several levels of leadership training. Applications will be in the forms/downloads page when available. The Academy provides the leadership required to earn the saber.
