Item Number: 214 Size: 24 in. high x 8-1/2 in. diameter across top. Description: Chinese garden lantern. Cast bronze with weathered copper finish, screw-on top and a spike for a candle inside. Two dragons in traditional pursuit of a "pearl of wisdom and truth" are cast into the fretwork pattern that effectively keeps breezes from blowing out the candle. The left hand photo was taken in the shade with a white fabric backdrop to show the shape of the lantern, and the right hand photo was taken in a garden setting. With a little practice, rubbing the handles at just the right speed and pressure with wet hands will cause the bowl to vibrate at a low-pitched resonant note, and water droplets will leap into the air while the bowl is "singing". Item Number: 110 Size: 6 feet 1 inch x 3 feet 9 inches Description: 30-40 year old Gabbeh carpet made with very silky undyed sheep's wool. The rug is clean, and its condition is good. There are two repairs to the foundation of this rug, and about a dozen "knot pops" are visible to the practiced eye. It lies flat on the floor, and the pile is medium-length and even.
