In Loving Memory

Don Domain,
board member and past president of the Friends of Soldiers Delight, passed on April 9. The Board of Directors is deeply saddened by this significant loss to the conservation community.
He will be remembered for his many years of staunch and devoted service on behalf of Soldiers Delight and all of Maryland's State Parks, and for his knack at inspiring and encouraging others to do the same.

Art Exhibit

"Reflections and other Inspirations"
An exhibition featuring selected works of Richard H. Wiegand, Artistic Photographer

in the Soldiers Delight Visitors' Center

Richard H. Wiegand has been botanizing and photographing the State of Maryland for the past 40 years, and he served as the State's Natural Resource Biologist for the Central Region. He is renowned within DNR for his photographs that span a large range of subjects and formats and which are all drawn from the beauty of nature. R. H. Wiegand's work, as both botanist and photographer, has been used extensively by public and private organizations. His photos have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, as well as in calendars, brochures, displays, DNR publications, websites and several books. In addition to being widely published, he has also appeared as a naturalist multiple times on the Maryland PBS television series Outdoors Maryland. Mr. Wiegand's formal study of photography began under Dr. Szell, a close student and companion of Ansel Adams for many years, at Miami Photography College.
