We all have to feel safe
right? Of course. Everyone has something they worry about too.
When worries take over to the point that they are affecting daily life, or casuing avoidance of normal everyday activity, it's time to find some help.
To a person with an Anxiety Disorder, safety and well-being are not so easily attainable and there is much that they perceive to worry about.
There is constant worry about performance, to the point where they can’t perform at all. For instance, for a child with an anxiety disorder, Physical Education class might mean constant worry and fear that they would do something stupid to make them the laughing stock of their peers. Others might worry about academic performance and are they measuring up to their peers? There are worries over social issues, fears of environments, fears of everything and it can be overwhelming.
Treatment can include medication, therapy or a combination of both.
