The Enchanting Air Dances A Whispering Tune

Courage

singing thoughts caress
the churning clouds
overhead
the toe-dancing rain plays
an untimely beat
on my face

listening
to the silence landing
on my hand
feeling afraid, although peaceful
as scarred feet reach
for a new unpainted step

doubts drop
to the ground
splashing with freedom
offering puddles
of hope and courage
