The Enchanting Air Dances A Whispering Tune |
Mom's Goodbye

florida was foggy that morning,
shrouded in thick heavy drapes
framed outside the window,
quite unusual
on this sunshine street.
waking to a streak of light
crossing her bed,
Sharon's first thought
was of the dancing sun,
playing,
reflecting from the ceiling.
another flashing thought
jolted her sleepy eyes
wide with silent alarms,
catching the graveness,
the surrounding sadness,
the death-like sunless mourning
curtained outside,
alerted her senses
of Mom.
she had left
sometime in the morning
happy and free,
glowing across the bed
waving with love
to Sharon.
showering the bed with sparks of joy,
shimmering her goodbye
with a dancing "I love you" smile,
clearly celebrating this moment,
Mom hurried to meet Dad
and a new beginning...
