Mom and Dad

i smile and kiss your loving face
i talk to you hoping you can hear
old age has stolen your grace
and filled your eyes with cloudy fear

you mumble words of long ago
memories are confused with today
my heart grieves, I love you so
not giving up, you struggle to stay

"It's okay, we're here, by your side"
and angels beckon a sounding a call
with a guiding light that opens wide
again, my tears begin to fall
