Whispering Rain

Your light bounces
yellow beams off the walls
as if the sun
angles
to enter the seams
of my room

The curtains flutter
dance in pairs
to celebrate
your gentle touch

The melody of the rain
softly taps
the changing beat
of my heart

Cascading and swirling
landing in perfect rhythm
the dewy beads
slowly
roll together
embracing

Flashes of warmth invade
mingling
with muffled sighs
as the excited air leaps
through the open ledge
covering need and desire
with love's sweet pledge

Giggling thoughts flirt
with your name
laughter and smile
enjoying the warm refrain
that slips into the corners
of my mind
 as the raindrops
play on the pane

Thrilling to the sound
rainbow's snuggled prize
the rain sings once again
with orchestrated sighs

The raindrops touch face to face
together in love's embrace
