You Know What?

you know what?

I think it was your name
that first caught my attention
managing to drive a smile
into my mood of pretension

you know what?

It could have been your wit
soothing my comical sadness
suggesting kindness and reality
with each intuitive punch line

you know what?

It's possible the spinning truth
spoken gently, was a factor
impressing each standing lie
and seldom shared with others

you know what?

Maybe it was your honesty
sprinkled around the edges
of each flirting noble thought
hugging tightly to my senses

you know what?

I'm sure all these qualities
flawed virtues in many
swayed my eyes in your direction
dear friend, in you I found it all
