| Changing your router so you can enable ICS. |
| 1. Login to your router's config, most use a web-based. | |
| 2. Find Lan Settings area, in my netgear its under advanced. | |
| 3. You can keep your DHCP server enabled, start its pool in the 192.168.1.xxx subnet and set the count to whatever you need. And change your IP address to 192.168.1.xxx, I use 1 for the xxx. | |
| 4. As soon as you hit apply, or save your changes you will lose connectivity to your router, becuase it will be on a different subnet. If you use a static IPs to connect to the router you will need to change the ip from 192.168.0.xxx to a new ip in the 192.168.1.xxx subnet, (i went from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.1.2). If you use dhcp assigned IP's the easiest thing to do is reboot or in a command prompt (Starts->run "cmd") type "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew". |
| 5. You Should now have connectivity to the router again, and are ready to activate ICS. |
