Handy links
pam links? Is this like the sausage links I had for breakfast?
Not remotely. I don't even want to go there. Rather, let me connect
you to some handy Internet sites to aid your search for a spam free nirvana.
I've been careful to stress quality over quantity. I'll leave it to others to list
every hit they got on "spam" from a Lycos search.
- Address Munging FAQ.
Associated with the Email Abuse FAQ. Everything you'd ever want to know about
this arcane art. A tad dull in my view.
- Cyberabuse.org.
This site is pretty geeky and a definite work in progress. But it should evolve into one of the more
useful sites over time. Plus, you can do a WHOIS from this site. The focus is the network
administrator side. It's interesting to note that this site is international in scope. Law
enforcement types might be interested in subscribing to CrimeWatch.
- Electronic Software Publishing Corporation (Elsop).
A comprehensive list of where to report spam abuse.
- Email Abuse FAQ.
A tad dry but everything's there and it's very well organized.
- The Hunger Site.
Okay, this site has absolutely nothing to do with fighting spam. But it's even a more
worthy cause: feeding the hungry around the world. Visit this site every day and give a
modest amount of food to those in need. It's completely free! Ah, I knew I could
get your attention!
- Sam Spade. Home of Sam Spade
software. A must have Windows tool kit for any serious spam detective. The software includes
WHOIS, Traceroute, Finger, and so on. The software is free.
Sneakemail. This is where the Spammeister gets
his throw away email addresses. Create a new email account on the fly. Sneakemail will forward it
to another email account. Sneakemail has some rudementary spam blocking tools. But you can easily
throw these email accounts away if they get out of control then just create another one.
A highly recommended site.
- SPEWS. Maintains lists of
spammers. Get a little bit of history on your spammers.
- Southwest Bell Spam FAQ.
A professionally done web site dedicated to our favorite subject, spam.
SpamCon Foundation.
An organization dedicated to ensuring valid email reaches its destination.
A wealth of resources and links. Covers the legal angle. Recommended.
SpamCop. A great resource
for reporting spam abuse. Register today!
- Spamhaus Project. A very interesting
site listing known ISPs and spammers. Professionally done and interesting if you want to confirm
that the spam you just received came from a genuine spamhaus. It's surprising to see some of the big name
corporations giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
- Spam Laws.
For legal eagles.
- Stop Spam FAQ.
What can I say? I like this guy.
UXN Spam Combat. A truely incredible
site. It's dedicated to anti-spam tools like Tracerout, NLSLookup, and WHOIs which you can use
from their homepage. A must visit
site.
