Our Friends
If you've enjoyed speaking to us, you'll find that our Beardie breeder friends can be as helpful, reputable and conscientious as we are.
Our closest Beardie friends are Barb & Rick Voss. They bred our first two Beardies and have been there every step of the way for us. (Like the night we had our first litter and they drove 3 hours to be here with us.) We've grown to be great personal friends and enjoy their company immensely. Often our conversations revolve around the dogs, but we have many common interests and share many of the same points of view. Stop by their web page to see more about "The Voss'".
Chris and Ed Walkowicz have also been long and close friends of ours beginning the day we got our first Beardie. Their many years in dogs and especially Beardies have helped us understand not only Beardies, but all dog breeds, dog shows, dog clubs and dog health. Visit Chris & Ed's web page at home.revealed.net/walkoway.
Technically we've known Donna and Fred Hawker longer than any of our other Beardie Friends. We met them at a dog show in Chicago while we were deciding if we wanted to have a "show dog" or not. Donna and Fred didn't win that day, but they showed us the true spirit of a Beardie owner and breeder.
Dea and Rod Eads have also been wonderful people for us to know. They've helped us to keep things in perspective and have encouraged us when we needed a "pick-me-up". The fact that they are Donna's parents only goes to prove that great parents can yield great children.
Karen Shaw is a long time friend of Chris and Ed Walkowicz and has become a very good friend of ours. She was also there when we started showing our first Beardie. She helped us establish the proper control for all of our dogs as well as taught us a few critical lessons when we began showing.
Jeff, Sharon, Julie and Bea, our newest friends and owners of the stud dogs that we've used, have helped us to see what it takes to have a top Beardie. We've spoken to them many times to get advice, see if they have upcoming litters, celebrate our victories, rejoice in theirs, and above all, just have fun breeding and showing Bearded Collies.
As you can see, we are a geographically diverse group (Chicago IL, Quad Cities IL, Danville IL, St. Louis MO, Madison WI., Cleveland OH, Toronto CAN). Hopefully one of us, or someone we can recommend is close enough to you so that you can stop by, meet the Beardies and find out more about the breed and if you're interested, dog showing.
We've known all of these people for many years now and can attest that they care about the Beardies that they breed and the homes that they move in to. Any breeder, no matter what the breed should feel and act the same way.
