Dance Theater Ensemble’s Fall Concert: “Salamat - we thank you!”
Inspired by some
of the powerful work in Spectrum's repertoire, Artistic Director Olivia
Davis has created a concert built on the music of artists who came to a
point in their lives when they needed to acknowledge and celebrate a force
more powerful than they - and to say thank you! Bobby McFerrin, Duke
Ellington, Stevie Wonder are examples of those who have chosen to focus
their genius on the spiritual. Spectrum in Motion is Charter Oak's resident
dance education and performance company.

by the true story, told through dance, of the journey of the
thousands of men who came from the Philippines during the late 1940’s and

Magangda
Dalaga, a beautiful woman....the story of Eurydice
May 29-31
and June 5-7, funded in part by the Arts Council’s Dance Grant Initiative. Tickets are $20
general admission, $10 Let*s Go Arts! and $5 students.
As the culmination of the 25th
anniversary season of the original founding of the company, this work is an
exploration and the discovery of what we hold dear: love, beauty, faith, and
trust. Many of us are familiar with Orpheus, the son of Apollo and one of
his muses. His gift of music was revered by all. We are told of his love
for Eurydice, his wife. Their love story is a tragic one, but their love is
an inspiration for all and endures the test of time. Accompanied by live
music and selected recorded music by the world renowned Wayne Shorter, Magandang Dalaga wiil continue the
tradition of celebrating the stories of our lives and honoring one of
America’s great sons - Wayne Shorter.
