Ancestral Wisdom

Power and Knowledge from your own Soul History

A Shaman's Training with Kanaychowa Layman, Wolf Shaman

Your Past Lives can reveal a wealth of relevant information and power for you. Many of them dwell in the Higher Astral Realms, guiding your life through dreams and inclinations arising from the heart. With this shamanic workshop, you can contact a Soul Force Ancestor and create a relationship with them.  This will empower you to know more of your soul purpose, and understand current patterns in life. We will enjoy maskmaking, storytelling, Sweat lodge ceremony, dreaming and drumming.

Why are you here?

Who are you really?

This is a 6 month process of self discovery that will culminate with a 4 day wilderness quest all of which will take you out of the ordinary world into the extra-ordinary world of Spirit. Using sweatlodge, journeying, working with power animals, plants, ancestors, your own guardian angel and other energies of the sacred hoop I will help you to discover  for yourself the answers to these questions and more.

We will walk together into the mystery of life and learn who called you here and why. This process will ask you to step out of your day to day existance and reality and come into the realm of the Dreamtime for an experience that will change your life!

If you are bored, stuck, feel no sense of purpose, lost or just want to do something you have never done before this process is for you. This class is limited to 8 people.

A completed application and interview is required to determine if this process is for you. Once accepted a 6 month commitment and quest completion is mandatory.

Class requirements:

One day a month at Spirit Gate - will include participation in a sweatlodge

Session with me once a month which may include a Plant Spirit Medicine Treatment, Soul Integration Therapy or Flower Essence Therapy.

Daily work and time outside

Connection with other members of your group once a month

4 day wilderness quest in September

Cost: $100 registration (non-refundable after first day of process), $75 monthly session fee, $40 monthly workshop fee, and Wilderness Quest $100 per day ($100 registration fee adjusted here) 

Shaman Training - Keeperships 

$100 registration ( taken off cost of Wilderness Quest )

This year long training is for those who wish to delve further into training as shaman.

We will be working with the keeperships of the drum, the pipe, the bowl and the sword. This is more than just having these tools and knowing how to use them. This training will help you to deepen your understanding of these objects of power and why a shaman has them as tools and how to use them. The training will culminate in a 4 day Vision Quest. This class is limited to 6 people.

This class requires previous work with myself or other person of power and if you are not a prior student of mine to be considered for this class you must fill out an application and have a one on one interview with me.

Class commitments:

A one day workshop once a month at Spirit Gate in Shelton 

Gathering the materials for and creation of Pipe, Drum and Bowl and procuring a sword (these will be done as a class with instructions from me)

Daily work and time outside

Session with me once a month

4 day Wilderness quest

I offer all of the classes listed below.  It is possible to adapt them to specific groups and settings. I am willing to travel to Kitsap, Pierce, King and Grays Harbor counties to offer any of the classes I may list here if there are 6 or more people who have registered and paid in advance. I would also need to have lodging provided if the class is more than a one-day class.  Pre-registration is required for all classes.  Session fees are $75, 24-hour notice will be required for cancelled appointments, and payment in full will be expected for missed appointments without prior notification.

Breathing with the Goddess

$50 registration

A one year training for those women who wish to explore the mysteries of woman and the Goddess. We will be working closely with a pantheon of Goddesses and learning more of how we hold and manifest the energies and qualities of the Goddess. We will be exploring this mystery of woman using the sweatlodge ceremony, journeying, field trips, spending time outside in the energy of the Earth Mother, mask making., using myth making and storytelling, song crafting, dancing, singing  and honoring the Goddess in all her many forms. The class is limited to 8 women and I do ask for a commitment of at least 3 months in the beginning. If one wishes to continue after 3 months then I ask for a commitment to the rest of the year.

This is the first in a series of four trainings that if a woman wishes to complete all four of the trainings then she can be initiated as Priestess for the Goddess - Which means working with the Goddess out in the world teaching and training women to know themselves as sacred and know the goddess and the earth as sacred and initiating others into this Sisterhood.

Even if a woman has no desire to be Preistess these trainings are a valuable aid in becoming the woman we wish to be;

Connected to the Passion for Life that brought us here,

Living in rightness with the Earth Mother

The requirements are:

One day a month working with myself and the circle at Spirit Gate in Shelton and other wonderful places. This may include a sweatlodge and time outside.

A personal daily exercise which may also include time outside.

3 days at the end of the year either at the end of September or beginning of October 2006 for a  finalization of the years work.

One session a month with me which may include a Plant Spirit Medicine Treatment, Soul Integration Therapy or Flower Essence Therapy.

Cost: $95 a month - $75 for the session and $30 for the daylong workshop and $175 for the 3 day workshop at year end.

A non-refundable registration fee of $50 is required but will be taken off the cost of the year end workshop.

The Shaman's Journey

Shamanic Journeying is a technique used by shaman around the world to travel in the Spirit Planes, known as the Dreamtime.

Learn the basic technique of Journeying to the inner planes, similar to the technique taught by Michael Harner and Eliot Cowen.  Meet and establish relationships with your personal spirit guides, totem animal helpers, and allies.  Journey to your Angel Temple, where you will meet your Guardian Angel and gain access to your Soul Force Records.  Gain tools and knowledge that will aid you in helping yourself and others be more effective on your journey in the physical plane world.  Journeying also helps a person be more effective in the sleep dreamtime.

This Journey Workshop generally runs from Friday evening through Sunday evening, and can be taught to your group of four or more at your location.  (Out of area travel expenses apply.)  Click here to send an e-mail for information on the next available class.

Magic of the Earth

When you came to this life an Animal Spirit called you to this planet. This animal guardian is your Planetary Spirit Guardian. It is your principal totem animal and is there for you to help you to connect to the Earth Mother. Creating a conscious relationship with this animal can also help you to learn more about your relationship to your own body, food and health. It will help you to stay grounded and have a better relationship with Earth Mother and your Self. This is a two part class.

In Part 1 we will make a rawhide rattle that will be the talisman for your Earth Guardian Spirit.

In Part 2 through a day of ritual, ceremony and sweat lodge, we will find the Guardian Spirit animal that walks with you in this life, call it to you and then activate your talisman rattle.

These classes will take place at Spirit Gate in Shelton.

Monthly Sweatlodges

Sweatlodge Instructions and Things to Bring

• Things to Bring:

  • A bundle or equivalent of wood
    
  • Musical Instrument (drum, rattle etc.)
    
  • Water 
    
  • Towel (s)
    
  • Something to sit upon
    
  • A light cotton or otherwise breathable garment, towel or wraparound to wear into the sweat. (Optional.)
    
  • Flashlight if the lodge is at night
    
  • Item for the altar: Something that is a symbol of your Self.
    
  • Food or dish to share at potluck afterward. 

• Instructions

  • A few days before the sweat you may want to increase your water intake, especially if you normally don't consume the required 8 glasses. On the day of the sweat drink A LOT of water. You want your body to be hydrated.
    
  • On the day of the sweat: It is preferable to have no solid food before a sweat. Fruit or vegetable juice is OK.
    
  • A love offering for the facilitator and for buying more wood is always appreciated but not required.

Bowl Keepers

A teaching Circle for women who want to know and experience more about Ceremony, Magic and the Sisterhood

We will meet one Saturday a month for 3 hours. During this time we will have a teaching and a ceremony. Periodically we will have a sweatlodge ceremony.

Requirements: 

• Love and respect for women

• An open heart and a willingness to learn

• A commitment to attend each gathering

• A donation of $25 a session is requested

Ancestors of the Quilomene

        In ancient cultures there were those people who would not pass to the "other side camp" but who would stay on the earth, in the space between, as a guardian of the land and guide to the people who would travel there for sacred ceremony.  They are not ghosts, but sacred beings with a sacred purpose.  These ancestors are, in some areas, forgotten by the people because of the population explosion and the lack of interest in Spiritual ceremony at sacred sites. This area, that is now called the Quilomene, is blessed with many of these "ancestors" who are eager to share their home with those who would seek counsel in a sacred manner.

       We have been invited to bring our sacred people to this very special area to share an experience that not many in our culture have been able to have.  We will do sacred ceremony to call to these ancestors and you will have the opportunity to meet one of these people who will come and share their teachings with you.  The Spirits of this rugged and beautiful desert wilderness are waiting for you to come and be blessed by their presence and energy and we will share a blessing with the land and receive a blessing  in return.

       We will arrive at the site Friday afternoon and begin ceremonies at 7pm and end on Sunday at approximately 5pm. The cost is $150 and we are requesting a $75 deposit upon registration. The balance of $75 will be due on the first day of class.

       There is no limit to the number of people who can participate but those who have not worked with one of us in some way are asked to speak with either myself or Lelelewa before registering.  You may register by mail or in person with either one of us.  Please e-mail or call if you have questions or need more information.
